Position Summary

The Electrical Service Technician will evaluate, maintain, and repair electrical systems in both residences and small commercial spaces. The electrical technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, ordering electrical supplies and equipment needed for individual jobs, communicating and occasionally training an electrical apprentice and relaying details regarding customers, jobs, etc. with management on a consistent basis.

The Electrical Service Technician will report directly to the Electrical Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning electrical systems and equipment
  • Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, etc.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and systems
  • Advising customers on options concerning electrical maintenance and/or necessary repairs
  • Supervising electrical apprentices
  • Ordering of electrical supplies and equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical or a related field
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to lead and coordinate jobsite
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

Physical Demands

  • Pushing and pulling heavy items on a regular basis
  • Frequently lifting items of varying weights
  • Extended periods of standing or sitting
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, and bending
